Keyhole Garden Promotion

The goals of the project are to increase food security and improve the nutrition at households caring for OVCs.

Kyetume CBHC has received funding for this project, 75 households will be targeted for construction of a keyhole garden and for nutrition education. The field work began in March with each household receiving two visits from Kyetume CBHC staff. Ten model gardens will be constructed (this is funded by a 3rd party).  Visual aids will be used to help demonstrate the construction and to help with the nutrition education. After construction the household will receive seeds to plan in the garden (carrot, eggplant, green pepper, zucchini and two types of greens).

As of June 2009, 8 keyhole gardens have been built.
