HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control

Kyetume CBHC Programme makes this mission a top priority by using a holistic approach to community health. This is the core component of Kyetume’s integrated Heath Care model on which other interventions evolve.  Under prevention the focus is on routine awareness raising and mobilisation of communities to stick to preventive measure and also voluntarily determine their sero status for timely medical attention.  Hence VCT services are freely offered at our two static health centers and thirteen outreach centers within Mukono South - Uganda.

On the other hand, control centers on provision of our going psycho social support and treatment of opportunistic infections through a continuum of care referred to as “palliative care” which also includes Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART).  With the acquisition of the Human Diagnostic Machine at our Kyetume Health Centre regular CD4 Count is possible through which ART enrollment is determined and managed.
