Certificate and Degree Level Computer Trainings


The Emma & Greg Resource Centre offers two computer courses on site targeted toward disadvantaged families, OVCs, school dropouts, and stay-at-home mothers.  The two programs offered include a Certificate level training and a Degree level training.  The classes meet daily.  The program opens many opportunities for its students.

Certificate Level Training

Established in 2004, this course offers an introduction to computers and basic computer programmes.  Students learn how to print and scan, as well as the basics of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.

To apply, prospective students should submit an application form, available at the Emma & Greg Resource Centre, along with 4000 ush.  Tuition for the Introduction to Computers Course is 20,000 ush plus 15,000 ush for each program, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Degree Level Training

Since July 2008, this training has been providing students with a more in depth study of computers.   The application fee is 70,000 ush.  Along with the application form, applicants must also present:

3 Passport Sized Photos
At Least 2 Principle Passes
2 Subsidiaries
Birth Certificate

Tuition for Degree Level Training is 450,000 ush.

Twenty-three certificate level students graduated on April 22, 2009.
Another Certificate level trainig is underway.
A new Degree level training will launch August 2009.  Interested students should visit the Emma & Greg Resource Centre.
